Meet The Team

Senior Paralegal
Carla Bankhead
Carla Bankhead is the Senior Paralegal at Jepsen Law and a cornerstone of the firm’s day-to-day excellence. A Reno native for nearly four decades, Carla brings deep roots in the community along with more than 37 years of experience in the legal field.
Carla holds an Associate of Applied Science in Legal Assistant Studies from Truckee Meadows Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Nevada, Reno. While her formal education laid a strong foundation, Carla often jokes that her most valuable training came from “the school of life”—a sentiment that reflects the breadth of real-world knowledge she’s gained over more than 25 years as a paralegal.
Throughout her career, Carla has worked across a wide range of practice areas, including family law, civil litigation, personal injury, insurance defense, estate planning, and probate. Her versatility, attention to detail, and steady professionalism make her an invaluable resource for both clients and attorneys alike.
Outside the office, Carla is an avid outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, and running, and loves that Reno offers easy access to so many beautiful and adventurous destinations while still maintaining a laid-back, welcoming feel. She also enjoys traveling and is looking forward to welcoming a new dog (or two) into her life soon.
Carla is also a proud mother. Her son is currently attending law school at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University—a point of pride that speaks to her deep respect for the legal profession.
When asked why she enjoys working at Jepsen Law, Carla points first to Kendra Jepsen herself, describing her as smart, kind, generous, and compassionate. She values the firm’s small, family-like environment and the genuine care shown for both clients and team members.
With decades of experience, a calm and capable presence, and a genuine love for the work she does, Carla Bankhead exemplifies the professionalism and heart that define Jepsen Law.
